Ian uses a range of counselling modalities, including CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), solution-focussed therapy and narrative and interpersonal therapies. He also integrates mindfulness techniques in therapy. Ian utilizes a range of parenting and behavioural strategies when working with families.
Ian has an interest in working with couples and families. He has experience in working with WorkCover and EAP clients. He also has a passion for helping people with obsessive compulsive problems and also addictions, such as gambling, alcohol etc. Ian is committed to understanding the unique presentation of clients and working with their level of motivation, knowledge and potential for change.

Educational Background
Ian has completed an Honours psychology degree at University of Queensland in 1993. He has worked as a psychologist for the past 20 years. Ian has worked as a counsellor and supervisor for Kids Helpline and also Parentline. Ian worked for Relationship Australia for four years. He is also a trained practitioner of the Triple P program
