Penny Travis

Provisional Psychologist

 

Penny is a Provisional Psychologist with a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) Honours degree through the University of Southern Queensland. Penny is an Associate Member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporated.

Penny has experience working with children, teens and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Disability, Intellectual Impairment, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), Trauma, Depression, Social Anxiety and Generalised Anxiety.

Using a Strengths-based approach, Penny provides a range of evidence-based interventions such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-focused therapy, and Systems therapy.

Penny has a special interest in Self-Esteem and Self-Development, Neurodiversity, Autism/Aspergers, Social Anxiety, Generalised Anxiety, Interpersonal difficulties, Emotion regulation, Childhood behavioural issues, Depression, Stress, and working with children and families.
