Shane McKenzie
Provisional Psychologist
Shane holds a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland and a Master of Professional Psychology from the University of New England. Shane comes to the profession from a background in community-based legal and mental health services, and he brings a wealth of experience in ensuring quality service delivery while navigating challenges to client wellbeing.
Shane strives to create a relationship where clients feel not only comfortable sharing their situation, but encouraged to fully discuss their difficulties and goals. He is committed to an approach that establishes and builds upon a foundational understanding of the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of individual emotions and the relationship between specific behaviours and our various core human needs. Shane places a high value on identifying the cycles that underpin wellbeing challenges and the ways that clients can break those cycles, and he aims to ensure that consultations are engaging and meaningful whether conducted in-person or online.
